MOUNT ABU, Rajasthan

Mount Abu
is the only hill station in Rajasthan. A pleasant wooded
retreat with a little lake,
Mount
Abu is known also for its beautiful Jain temples.
Places of Interest:
Dilwara Temples:
These temples are the finest examples of
Jain architecture in
India. Incredibly beautiful, these temples of delicately
filigreed, translucent marble include the Vimal Vashi
Temple built in 1031 to the first Jain Tirthankara,
Adinath, and the Tejpal Temple, built in later times.
Guru Shikhar(15 km):
Fine
views can be had from Guru Shikhar, the highest point in
Rajasthan.
Nakki Lake:
The
small lake set in lush green surroundings has little
islands and strange rock formations along the shore.
Adhar Devi Temple:
A flight of 200 steps lead up to this
Durga temple carved out of a large, monolithic rock.
